Dock/Mooring lines are made from double braid nylon ropes. We splice a 10″-12″ loop on one end, the other end is Heat Sealed to prevent the rope from unraveling. Made in Canada –

Nylon rope will stretch when a load is applied, the elastic elongation is approx 20%.
The main benefit of this property is that nylon rope will absorb a certain amount of shock loading at Mooring/Docking during normal or adverse conditions.
These lines when properly attached to the boat and the dock will reduce the rubbing / scratching between the boat and the dock.
Dock Lines should be evenly tensioned, this helps reduce the movement and damage to your boat.
Installation of Fender Lines and setting Fenders also help reduce this friction and are used in conjunction with dock lines.
